Ty was definitely not the worst on the team hitting wise. I was fired once from a retail job and was one of the better managers at the time of firing but the DM was on the hot seat so he fired several of the better performing managers to put a fire under the other managers. It didn’t work. He eventually lost his job too! Maybe that is what Dibozo on SS are doing to “motivate” the team.

I'm actually starting to wonder what was the point of DFAing France at this point? If they were making a bunch of big moves, trades or something I'd get it.

But if we're just going down with the ship, why can't he just stay?

It really doesn't make sense to take on haniger's contract and get nothing out of it. They gave Ray away by paying down half his salary. You can say all they cared about was dumping Ray's salary, but let's grade the trade. I think dipoto expected to get some value back with haniger.

And he hadn't been good since 2021. Just Moronic and will get worse when RR starts vs. the Dodgers Wednesday.

Ray making his debut with the Giants, isn't that pretty fast? So we are stuck with haniger for another season and they get a starting pitcher, I don't know...

The Giants are hopeful that Ray has 80-90 grunts in him Wednesday. He threw 78 pitches in Triple-A over the weekend in his final rehab start, striking out seven and allowing just one hit. Ray's fastball was consistently 94-95 mph, and at times during his rehab, it was even firmer.

I was happy they moved on from Ray. It would have made the Mariners better if they had reinvested the savings instead of pocketing it.

Haniger was owed $35.5M through 2025 compared to $73M through 2026 for Ray.

Rays salary for 2024 & 2025 was $48M to Haniger's $35.5M

Seems like no matter how you view it there were savings.
