Don't look now but Mitch has yet to utilize his option

I know, it is crazy. He obviously has enough money to retire but that is a lot to leave on the table. Kenji Jojima did it though but maybe it is a cultural thing.

I'm guessing you saw this, but just in case - seems germane to the conversation.

Thanks so probably tomorrow. Imagine deciding if you want $17.5M to play baseball or not.

Something I was wondering...
What if the M's were able to negotiate a buy-out of the option in exchange for him retiring?
Lets say Haniger knows that his money and being on the team will hurt them. What if he asks for $10 million to walk away and no publicity of the deal? That way he's not hated by the fan base for sitting there on the bench collecting money.

I saw that on the splash page. You know if he retired, that would help free up resources. Some money, and if my route was taken you would have "paid" in prospect capitol. I was packing him up with Tai Peete, Logan Evans, etc. But if he just retires that would be a good move for the M's.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 1:34 amPossible.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 10:15 pmSomething I was wondering...

What does the three-year, $51 million contract for 33-year-old righthander Michael Wacha says about the three years and $72.5 million remaining on the contract of nearly 32-year-old righthander Luis Castillo?
At first blush, the Kansas City Royals got a good deal.
