That's the biggest problem. That is not the time to c challenge someone with a fastball, especially 2 pitches in a row

That loss is unspeakably painful.
We win we beat their ace and have ours going For game #2.
What a shitty way to lose it.

I just watched the game and we completely flushed it down the toilet. What really sucks is that the Asstros did so little to earn that victory. I just...wow...

Yeah, a win would have set the Ms up beautifully, and they were so close to pulling it off. Terrible loss. Just needed that 27th out.
But, on the positive side, the Ms still have their ace going for game 2, and if Castillo pitches like he did versus Toronto, then the Mariners have a good chance of getting right back into the series. Then they can go with Kirby for game 3 in front of the home crowd. The Astros are a tough challenge, but it's not impossible for the Ms to win the next two games and set up a rematch between Verlander and Gilbert on Sunday in Seattle for a chance to win 3 in a row and advance to the LCS.
This loss was as shitty as losses get, but being down 1-0 in a series can be overcome. Let's see how the Mariners respond. There might still be some more Mariner magic left this season!

Gilbert was a little disappointing to me. He got OK results, but a lot of hard hit ball outs and he was all over the place at times. Hope he gets another chance and that he's better.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 5:02 amI just watched the game and we completely flushed it down the toilet. The Astros played pretty well I thought. The game could've easily gone either way. Both teams are good. The best news is really that the Ms offense was so good. If they keep up the quality ABs, then they still have a chance to pull out the series. There will probably be more close games in the series. It would be nice if Castillo can shut down the Astros lineup like he did with Toronto and pull out a comfortable win. I think that would be huge, and then I think the Ms will probably go to him on short rest if the series ends up going 5 games.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 5:02 amI just watched the game and we completely flushed it down the toilet. What really stinks is the Asstros cheated to win the WS and 5 years later they're still being rewarded. To have Munoz give up his first home run in quite some time, Sewald completely cave in again and then Servais creates maybe the worst pitcher-batter matchup in 2022...I mean, what the hell was he thinking there?

Munoz not being able to close the door in the 8th cost us just as much in the 9th. We are facing a far superior team. With better starters, a deeper pen, and way better hitters. It's not over yet, not even by a landslide, but this hurts bad. I hope we can use this as fuel for Thursday night.
