Main thing is to have Robles for post season. I think he's the type of player that will have no problems with the big stage. Same thing with Polanco.
Does the suspension even impact post-season?

That Griffey one was the very next swing and probably coming in a lot hotter than Robles toss to the mound.

the point is he wasn't getting thrown at, none of them were intentional as far as i can tell, what reason would there be, i haven't seen anything about there being any hint of that. Okay, he got hit by five pitches, what exactly are the Mariners supposed to do about it? Find a league with pitchers with better controlSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 3:33 pmI think those were what's called "defensive swings".

I assumed there was an intentional element. But, if not, there's still the concept of this is an MLB player on a rehab assignment let's see if we can avoid hitting the guy 5 times. As far as I know he was the one getting hit and not a bunch of other Raniers. The Mariners didn't do anything wrong, it was the other team that was the bad guys and Robles had enough!Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 4:01 pmthe point is he wasn't getting thrown at, none of them were intentional as far as i can tell, what reason would there be, i haven't seen anything about there being any hint of that. I can't find anything that makes a hint of it being intentional. I don't think you are swinging at a pitch that is intentionally thrown at you. There seems to be an attitude that the Mariners should have done something about it, what exactly? Throwing his bat was a mistake, I'm confident he regrets doing itDanielVogelbach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 4:04 pmI assumed there was an intentional element. I didnt look it up to see if its true, but saw someone say that Robles had been hit 5 times, and 3 of those times were by the pitcher that he tossed the bat at. If that's the case, I hope the bat hit the guy.

Of course he regrets throwing his bat. He snapped. It was a classic baseball moment.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 4:17 pm

The Ms could've thrown some balls at their players. What else is there?

if it had he wouldn't have been available for us for the rest of the season most likely, not sure that's a good tradeoff

That many times, against one team, at one hitter? Fuck that. It was intentional. And would have come to a complete end if the organization had any balls and backed Robles. I imagine that was half of Victor's issue....frustration over it happening, and fucking knowing the spineless turds he was playing with weren't going to do jack shit. I really can't believe there hasn't been more made of that. Completely ridiculous. That shit would have been straightened out at the HS level, and our spoiled babies getting paid to play the game sat on their hands? Everyone on that staff should be fined....BIG TIME fined.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 4:01 pmthe point is he wasn't getting thrown at, none of them were intentional as far as i can tell, what reason would there be, i haven't seen anything about there being any hint of that. Re: Victor Robles gets hit for the 5th game in a row, throws bat at pitcher (not kidding)
nothing there about feeling he was being intentionally thrown at. I think he regrets throwing his bat, going to leave it at that
"I want to take a moment to sincerely apologize for my recent reaction on the field. I let my frustration get the best of me, and I understand how that may have affected not just the game, but the energy and respect we all work so hard to maintain.
"Coming off a long rehab and being away from the game for most of the season has been physically and mentally challenging. Adding to that, the recent passing of my mother has been incredibly hard, and I've been doing my best to hold it together. That's not an excuse, but some context I feel you deserve to understand where I'm coming from.
"Getting hit 5 times in 15 at-bats added to that pressure, and I reacted in a way I'm not proud of. This game means the world to me, and so do the people who play it. I respect every one of you – my teammates, the opposing players, and everyone in this league.
"I'm committed to being better, not just as a player, but as a teammate and competitor. I appreciate your understanding, and I'm grateful to be back on the field doing what I love.
"Thank you."
