I find Julio kind of boring to watch. There's tons of talent there and he seems to be a great teammate and positive force on the team. I'm not saying I don't like him at all. But there's no grind there. He just does what he does, which is pretty darn good. But it's kind of boring.

I'd like to see him become one of the best players in baseball. His OBP needs to be 50 points higher on average. Slug routinely over .500. He's only had a slug over .500 once and it was when he was a rookie.
He would be far less boring if he had discipline at the plate. It's the next leap in his game to figure out how to not swing at absolute garbage.
But I'm very happy he found power in May.

I'm with you. He had the last M's at bat of the 2025 season and he struck out on six pitches, none of which were in the strike zone. Whatever is said about him, Julio should be teachable not to flail and chase, but at this point it's in the mind, in the moment. Actually it only takes 25-30 plate appearances in a season to make a shitload of difference offensively. Turn most of those into walks and a few more hits and your OBP and BA rise. We need to see him as he is though, not how pundits portray him. If you look at his contract, he's got all the incentive a person could need. An MVP, maybe 2, and a couple other awards will make him very wealthy dude.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2026 5:36 pmIt is "good."GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2026 5:20 pmI find Julio kind of boring to watch.
