Yeah. They didn't try to win this year from the beginning (which you were perfectly ok with). Not sure why it surprises you at the trade deadline.

So, if you don't see a difference between not trading away youth prior to the year because you don't think you will contend, and still making moves for the future with a team that is one game back in late July? I am unclear why we even have discussions.

Look around, not every contender has a solid 1-9. You really want to act like they're in the hunt this year but may be worse next year? Be my guest.

I am not asking for a solid 1 - 9. But take out Kyle and Mitch? Who is solid? Toro and France. So, we remove two bats and we get better? You honestly think the rest of the buck eighty brigade is going to make such huge leaps that we compete in 2022?

They're not losing any production next season besides Seager, if he goes.

Only if he can't get 1/$10 million anywhere that might contend. Yes, I think any bat worth his salt will demand about that much more to come here knowing that even contention might mean they are sellers.

I didn't say to trade any prospects before the season, I said they should sign free agents. You said, "No, it's not our time yet!" like an idiot. Don't muddy the waters.

We're contending this year with this lineup- and it's better now than all season- why tf would we be worse next year? Haniger is under contract. Seager may come back. If anything we lose Seager then add Cruz, we're STILL better.
