I would keep Flexen as the fifth starter and go all in on FA SS Bell and trade for Reynolds...

I'd go Judge, Bell, give the 5 to Hancock then make the trade for Baez to join the middle infield for the same $'s you're spending.

Judge is going to break the bank, isn't he?

fwiw and I wish they had Xander and CC but they haven't officially opted for FA yet, Judge will cost a lot more than the SSs.

I doubt he'll be more expensive than at least a couple of the shortstops.

I'm just illustrating that I don't think a Baez trade precludes any other move- including a shortstop- because it's just exchanging already spent dollars.

I don't think he will personally. Not sure which team is going to break the bank for a corner outfielder/DH

* I clicked the link, see what you mean, yeah he'll probably cost more than a couple. I'd think Turner and Correa get bigger contracts than Judge but we'll see

It shall be fascinating. Judge put up almost double the WAR of any of the SSs..... Goldsmidt put up over 7 WAR at 35 yo with negative Defense and positional adjustment. If I was Judges agent I would point to that. 8 x 37.5MM

age 31 10 WAR
age 32 8 WAR
age 33 7 WAR
age 34 6 WAR
age 35 5 WAR
age 36 4 WAR
age 37 3 WAR
age 38 2 WAR

45 WAR for $300M = 6.7M per Cracker jacks.

I was seriously asking, because I liked your scenario. Judge and Bell change this lineup in big ways, right? Of course, my son just told me Judge is 0 fer 8 with 7 Ks this post season! :o

I'm praying both Xander and Turner hit FA because if they do CHA-CHING!!!! Turner says he wants to go east.

O's - need pitching

Rays & Marlins - too cheap can't afford anybody

Nats - Rebuilding + new owner

Jays - have Bichette

Braves - will probably re-sign Swanson

Yanks - have Kiner Falefa & Cabrera

Hard to find a market for him back east. I just know if their top 3 targets aren't Turner, Judge, & Xander whats the point.
