If he doesn’t spend he risks a fan meltdown. He has somehow managed to piss off the whole spectrum of fans. The Kelenic crazies, the good vibes fans even the 3 Evan fans

Jerry is batting 1000 on pissing the entire fanbase off! Great post.Coeurd’Alene J wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 1:46 amIf he doesn’t spend he risks a fan meltdown. He has somehow managed to piss off the whole spectrum of fans. The Kelenic crazies, the good vibes fans even the 3 Evan fans

Another SS comment
“I don't do the books. I coach the team. But that's my understanding, is that we will. We need to get better. Our lineup is not complete right now,”

Ironic that he is basically saying what he reprimanded Cal and called him out for making a Kelenic type mistake for.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 7:10 amAnother SS comment

I am pretty convinced that the M's fan base is a lot dumber than the average fan base. This confirms it. I bet if he had put JK in the poll over 50% would have picked him. lol

I actually have a better outlook on the team now, even knowing they don't have as much cash to spend.
Kelenic had become a succubus. A cancer.
The team played amazing when he was injured and tanked again as soon as he got back.
People claimed he wasn't a problem, but, he's gone. Tells ya something, imo.
They made the tough choice to move on from him after they had built him up so much the past three years.
Dipoto doesn't do anything good with the money he spends anyways, I think the team will be significantly better next year, even if payroll is down from 2023.
Just need a couple good moves now.

I have no idea how to respond to this:
What are the market values?
Cody B is said to be looking for 250M? WTF, that was once the highest of highs reserved for Pujols, ARod, Trout types. Bellinger? His 1st 3 years were great, he even had an MVP. But the next 3 (112, 44, 81) and then a 133 OPS+ on a make good. 250 M is a pipe dream, but he is still only going into age 28 season. What is his market? His last 4 years he has a 95 OPS+. He is coming off a 20HR-20SB so he has some ability to defend and effect the game on the bases. I would sign him for 250 but with performance protections.
Robert: Produces when healthy but is never healthy. But he is going into his age 26 season and considering the M's position he is basically an ideal target. He is a bit less than Geno was set to make, but he is entering his prime and one of our best bets all things considered. Robert is the only reasonable option.
Randy A. is younger Teo. But replacing both Teo and Geno who had both of them over 90RBI's in down years with a guy who has never had 90 RBIs does not seem like a win.
Teoscar, I'd be fine with but whatever. And again what is his market?

Robert Jr. seems like the best option imo, given his talent, age and contract status.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2023 8:23 amI have no idea how to respond to this:

Arozarena could fill a space but is pretty underwhelming, especially if he's the big move.
Bellinger had 4 months of .800+ OPS and two months of sub-.600 OPS, no in-between, he's hot or cold, apparently. Our manic fanbase would treat him like Julio and act like the sky is falling when he has a down stretch.
At least Teoscar wouldn't be a downgrade, but if anyone has proven that T-Mobile kills hitters, it's him. Wouldn't want to guarantee him multiple years, even if you want to hope for a bounceback.
He had an .830 OPS Away and a .643 OPS at home. We're fortunate he's gone imo.
