It's been a while since anyone scored this much against the Mariners and it was mostly because of poor fielding, not pitching.

Their RF catches that. Probably every other RF in MLB catches that. Haniger was terrible two seasons ago too, why we literally painted ourselves into a corner with him is baffling...and now he's not hitting either.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 8:46 pmThat ball was hit well. I don't blame Mitch for that.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 8:44 pmHaniger is single-handedly winning this game for the Braves.
2 out of 3 ain't bad against this club. And this creates no controversy for when Woo is ready to be back. In fact it let's us know that we have a young developing arm that is ready to step in should anyone else go down.
Agreed, this was the classic punt/courtesy win game today. I'd like to see our manager and players even say so in the post-game interviews just to embarrass the Braves.Big_Maple wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 8:53 pmYep - we need to get a proper DH and a solid RF. But we're stuck with Raley, Garver and Haniger.
Que sera sera.
I'm still gonna hold onto the fact that we took 2 of 3 from these bastards. They are a gritty team. Hancock held in there as long as he could - I don't think we ever stood a chance against a team that is this good that was held to 3 runs in 2 games - and against Sale as a starter considering how impotent and ineffectual our offense is. They were bound to break out eventually, and against our #5 guy is OK. -ish.
