I just saw something that said Randy and George both signed 1 year deals.

Was that just some A.I. garbage? Any news you all have heard?

Nico's weakness is lack of power and he doesn't a lot walk but he is a high contact hitter with only a 7.6% K rate in 2025. He has averaged almost a .350 OBP and 35 SBs the past 3 seasons so is the perfect leadoff hitter. He is an elite defender and his put up almost 5 fWAR in 2025.

He will make only $12M so fits into our lowball budget. He would make this a very good off season.

I'd rather have Bichette, but put Hoerner on this team in 2026 and that's a significant improvement over gambling on Young/Emerson/Williamson, and if at least one of the youngsters pans out we've probably got a 100-win team here.

Well yeah we all would but a team that Fs around haggling over $400k measly dollars like pissing off one of our young starters isn't going to be signing him to a $200M deal.
