Begs the question, if they want to cut payroll why don't they trade Marco. Even if they have to pay half his salary they still save $6M

• It will be interesting to see the adjustments Suárez, 32, attempts to make with the Diamondbacks. His career-high 214 strikeouts last season were the most in the AL, and he was not happy about it.

The way Suárez explained it, his approach with two strikes was the same as it was on the first pitch — all out, 100 percent. He acknowledged during the final weekend of the season that it was time for that to

Per Rosenthal.

Oh ya, the last weekend? Why the fk does the club not force him to acknowledge it?

Sonny Gray gets a $25M club option with a $5M buyout, and a player opt out.

So the most likely outcomes are 3yr/$80M, or 4yr/$100M. There is also the chance of an opt out which negates the buyout, so it becomes $3yr/$75M.

Both Nola and Gray got $25M AAVs. Nola got more years because he is younger. Sets the market for top SPs. Snell might get a bit more but I would be surprised if it topped $30M AAV.

On their Wednesday podcast the Locked on Mariners duo disparaged Isaac Paredes because of his underlying numbers, including exit velocity and bat speed:

2023 .913 OPS at the Trop .778 on the road. Career .844 at home .697 on the Road. Right Handed hitter. I wonder how he would hit at T-mobile....

Yikes I thought the Trop was a hitter friendly or neutral park.
