As are probably more concerned about meeting the minimum payroll standard
The Athletics need to reach a minimum 2025 payroll of $105 million or risk a grievance being filed against the MLBPA.

Seems to me Jude's report of the mariners having $16 mil to spend seems to be holding up so far
Seems more like 16 cents at this point

Jim Riley of BALLCAP Sports proposes a trade of Luis Castillo to Toronto for infielder Bo Bichette, who has one year and $17.6 million remaining on his contract before free agency:

The Mariners would save nearly $7 million in 2025 and would free up payroll in 2026 and 2027 for the escalating salaries of Logan Gilbert, George Kirby, Cal Raleigh, Bryce Miller and Bryan Woo.

Trading pitching (and/or prospects) for hitting seems to be their only viable option. Why would any bat sign here intentionally...

Well, the A’s continue to get better signing Gio Urshela to a one year deal:

So, the A’s got better, the Angels got better, the Astros got better, and the Rangers got better (they just got Joc Peterson).

Where are we? Weaker than we were in October.
But we are still the favorite to hang another "Most profitable team" banner so Jerry and Stanton are happy. Meanwhile all of our young cost controlled players sre counting the days until they can get the hell away drom this shit show

They offered more to Santana according to MLB rumors but you can’t make them sign

Not only that but he had just sold his Cleveland home. It’s rather obvious hitters don’t want to come to Seattle so ownership needs to pay attention and make some changes

Luke Raley: .901 OPS at home / .666 OPS away

Victor Robles: .983 OPS at home / .698 OPS away

Cal Raleigh: .665 OPS at home / .823 OPS away ... 2023: .730 OPS at home / .794 OPS away ... 2022: .600 OPS at home /.961 OPS away

Julio Rodriguez: .655 OPS at home / .805 OPS away ... 2023: .785 OPS at home/ .850 OPS away ... 2022: .892 OPS at home /.820 OPS away

JP Crawford: .480 OPS at home / .762 OPS away ... 2023: .842 OPS at home/ .793 OPS away

Ty France: 2023: .756 OPS at home / .652 away ... 2022: .784 OPS at home / .765 OPS away

Can anyone explain the pure insanity of these numbers?
