What would the numbers look like if you had Kirby or Miller as the headliner? My thinking is something like that is what it would take. It might even take Kirby (or Miller) + Cole Young + Prospect. Cole Young then becomes their super utility instead of Matt Shaw. I'm not sure I would do it, but I might. I think Kirby probably gets traded next offseason anyway.

Also, my spidey sense tells me they would want Brash and I'm not sure how I would feel about that.
I think they want Brash. No way I’d do that.

I continue to maintain that Miller should be on the chopping block. He’s been problematic during arbitration, but more importantly he has a bone spur in his elbow. It could be nothing, but it could also definitely be something. I’d rather see Miller involved in this trade then Kirby.

D-Train: I think you’re right that they won’t spend on a reliever. But if they trade away, Miller, maybe they use the money they plan to spend on a position player on a starter. Or maybe they just pocket the money and use some prospects to backfill.

Kirby is worth $66M so he would be a significant over pay straight up for Shaw.

They have said 57 times they are not trading a starter. Brash is worth $17M

Nolan Arenado to the Diamondbacks: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/01/ ... backs.html

St. Louis will pay $31 million of the remaining $42 million on Arenado's contract.

Hmmm...

We are 75% through the off season and our biggest new addition is a 35 yo short side platoon OFer that isn't good playing in the OF.

I know people think we don't have a snowballs chance at Bo. The longer this drags out the better it looks for a team like Seattle. Again I know what people think. Did people think we had a shot at Robinson Cano too. I get Jerry doesn't wanna be like the Dodgers & just spend on everybody but at the end of the day who are you spending big money on. What 2 guys? JRod & Cal. If these owners were smart they'd divert a lot of that money like LA did with Ohtani. You can structure contracts any number of ways. If Bo's willing to play 2B you have to throw Seattle in the discussions. Why more teams don't utilize that tactic is beyond me. Say Bo makes $300 million total who's to say you couldn't defer 200 of that. Am I missing something. Tucker I'd be out on simply because of injuries but I get the interest. Bo is a different story. Does Stanton not realize these players can increase the value of this franchise tenfold. I mean seriously how dumb do you have to be. What happens if he somehow suffered a stroke tomorrow what would happen would he be forced to sell, step down? Just curious. Still lots of time left. Again the longer Bo waits the better it looks for a team like Seattle. I still say go out & get Hoerner & then offer whatever for Diaz. Again why they don't wanna stock up on these 1 year deals is beyond me.

You are talking about an org that is haggling over a few hundred K while risking disenfranchising one of their young starters. Bo is expected to get over $200M. Zero chance. No, negative infinity chance we sign him. Cubs now aren't trading Hoerner. I have no idea why they aren't interested in Diaz.
Bo Bichette's contract predictions for his upcoming free agency (2026) center around a multi-year deal, with projections ranging from roughly 8 years for $208-$212 million (around $26M AAV)

Listening to the Hot Stove show on the radio. Justin Hollander hyping up Ferrer and Refsnyder. So pathetic.
