why would they trade Skenes for Kirby?D-train wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 5:37 pmScreenshot 2025-07-17 10.36.00 AM.pngDonn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 12:17 amtake more than that, when the White Sox Chris Sale they got the number one prospect in baseball as well as number 67, Yoan Moncada and Michael Kopech, as well as Luis Alexander Basabe and Victor Diaz.HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 16, 2025 11:21 pmHere's a question for the board. Anybody untouchable in your eyes. Pittsburgh says Skenes isn't available but what if you floated them say a Laz Montes, Arroyo & Harry Ford + maybe another arm would they do it & would you do it.

They literally have a better record than us and WC2. I bet they just might think they are in it.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 6:27 amGeno has produced nearly as much as Cal! I do not think he'd fall off a cliff he would be coming in the warm months to a playoff team and he still has friends in that dugout and is familiar with the city and park. He thrived here before. He can again.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 5:47 amAnd does Geno continue at that pace with a move back to Tmobile? Geno would be an upgrade but I am not sure it wouldn't be fairly incremental. He might add a win and who knows that win could be important but its not a train wreck that is the Yankees. Ben isn't the negative WAR player that we have put up with in the past
And fk all Chapman was in my offseason plans. Could you imagine if we had Chapman all year. But Boston has won 10 in a row so maybe they think they are in it.

here's a deal about Geno and T-mobile, its from when he played there, I was wondering about his doubles. Seems like a great idea, getting him away from the yankees would be interesting
https://www.lookoutlanding.com/2023/1/1 ... in-40-2023Eugenio didn’t only succeed in his defensive endeavors, but also performed admirably with his bat. A perfect example of a “three true outcomes” type of player, he lead the team in home runs at 31, was fourth in walk rate at 11.6%, and had the second highest strikeout percentage on the team at 31.2%. His 131 wRC+ was second-best on the team, his fWAR of 4.1 was third-best, and his ISO of .223 was also third-best on the team. In many categories he also compared favorably with the rest of the league, as well.
The type of player that he is makes for especially good news for the Mariners, as it’s exactly the profile of the kind of player that can succeed offensively in their home field of T-Mobile Park. John Trupin recently broke down the what and why of the park factors at T-Mobile, with Eugenio even getting a brief mention. Essentially one of the conclusions was that if you are not hitting a home run, you are very likely to be less successful, particularly in the area of extra-base hits. To that, Suárez stuck to his mantra of “Good Vibes Only”, hitting more than half of his home runs at home, and even exactly half of his 24 doubles.

They aren't trading him but it would be thinking the two prospects would be worth more than the downgrade to Kirby.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 5:52 pmwhy would they trade Skenes for Kirby?D-train wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 5:37 pmScreenshot 2025-07-17 10.36.00 AM.pngDonn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 12:17 am
take more than that, when the White Sox Chris Sale they got the number one prospect in baseball as well as number 67, Yoan Moncada and Michael Kopech, as well as Luis Alexander Basabe and Victor Diaz.

yeah, and do the mariners make that trade? Farmelo is supposedly the guy you don't trade. Shows the sort of value you would have to come up with.

I thought that was an interesting point from Joe Doyle. Being untouchable wasn't so much thinking a guy might be great as not knowing what he might be. Like the Dodgers nightmare, whatshisname to the Astros. They traded him before they were familiar with him

People always say that the team has a higher level of image maintenance and that stuff. But are they any more or less than all the other baseball teams??GL_Storm wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 4:51 pmChapman had an issue at one point with domestic violence. I believe it was his girlfriend at the time. My guess is that this would rule him out from the Mariners.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 6:27 amGeno has produced nearly as much as Cal! They'll be unstoppable with Geno.
