I think its pretty clear what the strategy is going to be with the bullpen. I'm honestly not too upset about it. If their is anything they have done exceptionally well its identify and coach up bullpen arms. But Man 4.55 ERA and a 1.516 WHIP in AA/AAA last season is not exactly lights out.

They have hit on a few several years ago but none recently unless you count Vargas. It has pretty much jumped the Shark at this point. Heyman had a .975 OPS as a catcher in the SEC but we are set at catcher and he was a 14th rounder so not a big loss but Hoppe has zero command.

Angels trade OF Taylor Ward to the Orioles for former top prospect Grayson Rodriguez.

Seems like the Orioles are selling horribly low on a controlled, former top prospect who missed all of '25 with injuries.

Ward is a good player but he's owed like $11.5M and is a free agent in '27.

Your not trading for Yandy without including either Uceta or Cleavinger. TB always willing to deal pitchers. Yandy feels like a formality at this point. Makes way too much sense. One thing we know Jerry loves to do is wheel and deal. My main adds at this point are Duran from Boston & Yandy from TB.

Mariners had the 9th ranked BP per ERA, how much did the dodgers spend on their BP for their 21th ranking?

Diaz would be nice to add at DH, but Tampa played him at DH in 117 games and at 1B in 37 games.

He's going to be 35 years old.

Maybe they just had young guys they wanted in the field, I don't know. But from the outside, it looks like he's reaching DH status.

Which, I'd be fine with. Not sure Dipollander would be.
Josh isn't going to play 162 at 1B so Yandy could give him days off vs. LH starters a few time a month. Emergency 3B.
I think he fits just about perfect that way. I'd love to see them add an actual DH again.

Raley doesn't really fit too well now with Naylor, seems like the odd man out.

Which is a shame, he's got talent when he can get going. The injuries probably ended his time here unfortunately.

Seems to me, depending on the roster, they sign polanco , having multiple options at DH is an advantage. Playing one of polanco, Cal, Canzone adds to your overall roster depth. I prefer that to giving up a roster spot for a bat only. I think that's the essence of that approach to the position, and I don't think you are sacrificing production achieving it

Raley had 3.2 WAR in 2024. He is basically Polanco after the 2024 season. And they resigned him and it would out well. Raley Robles platoon in RF and Canzone at DH if they don't resign Polanco. Need to add a legit bat at 2B or 3B in that case though.
