Rivas is only playing due to both Brandon and Colt being hurt.

Winner winner
Yea we need much better options when needed. We have no one other then Bliss. Would be fun to see Bliss get a shot if needed.

Colt is back to healthy.

But at this point, why not just call up Caleb Cali?

25 YO was just named Texas League player of the week... hit .480, slugged 1.200 with 12 hits and 4 homers.

Looks like the Mariners are back to having to draw walks and then hoping to get lucky with the home run swing when the pitcher grooves one. Worked last night but usually doesn't.

When was the last time we had a double with two guys on base scoring both. Seems other teams do it at least a couple times a week. For us its more like once a month. It is a common play in baseball but we seem completely incapable of it for some reason.

Time to bring up Emerson. Move JP to bench bat.
Emerson sucks right now. Striking out a ton and batting close to 220

Hope he can find his swing again if not waste of money. Cant even hit aaa pitching.
So he’ll fit right in. At least it would be a different guy sucking instead of the usual clowns.

Batting Average is a misleading outdated stat. Cal had a low BA last year, did he suck?

Emerson has a .769 OPS. Not great, no bad either. OPS is a much better stat than BA.
So now, we are so desperate, that a "not bad" OPS in AAA means get him up to the Bigs? Good thing we paid the guy enough money to never be even above average at his craft and still be rich.

I'm not convinced Cole Young is this superstar in the making everyone is crowning him lol.

His OPS is now down to .710. He's been worth .6 fWAR but falling. bWAR is obsessed with his defense thus far.
Agreed. Only in Seattle could a guy have the year he did last year, but be a cult hero in year two, before May day, because his OPS was over .700

Thought it was the park, that's why it actually makes sense to hit the ball over the fence. T-Mobile is more forgiving about homeruns
.
We’ve talked to some people who study these kinds of things – park effects – and there is a strong belief that the gaps, the alleyways in right-center and left-center here at T-Mobile, just eat doubles alive,” Goldsmith continued. “… (The belief is) the ball kind of hangs here just long enough, more than other ballparks on average, and that keeps those fly balls up and allows an outfielder to cover some ground and make the catch

Maybe the Barista Mayor can blame the ballpark for all her taxes? I mean, isn't that about the only thing that the ballpark isn't blamed for? They built the fucking thing. Seems like they could have done some more research before they did?
