Sheff with an ERA of 5.66 and a WHIP of 1.50. So much for thinking we jobbed the Yanks when we got Tampaxton back.
I guess he's pitching for average. :?

Yeah, enjoying it while it lasts. The bullpen is really carrying this team going above and beyond, but if all these one hundred something hitters don't start hitting up to their career norms that dam is going to break.

With all the changeups Squidi has thrown tonight, it's about time someone actually sat on one. Another nice shot by Seager.

Justus had a rough first start, but not that bad. He then came back with a 6 inning 2 run game, and held arguably the best lineup in baseball to 3 runs in 5.2. He's been fine.
I'm just basing my opinion on the eye test. I'm far from an expert but I just don't see anything special about his stuff. And as someone else alluded to, he lacks that one pitch to put guys away. Too may of his best 2-strike pitches get fouled off.
He doesn’t have overwhelming stuff, so I think it’s unfair to expect miracles out of his arm so early in his career. Even the best pitchers have needed at least a year, sometimes two, to match ability to intelligence to finishing off development. Sheffield’s barely pitched 100 innings in ML - barely 2/3 of a season in more normal times for a starter. What I’ve seen so far in his other outings makes me curious to see if he can nail down consistency and a third quality pitch. If so, he becomes a solid MOR. (I have more confidence in him and Dunn than YK, who tends to have better stuff on average, but falls apart like a cheap suit more often than not.)
