What about another Canadian team, like in Vancouver. That would be cool.
I think I would actually prefer Vancouver to Portland. They have some diehard baseball fans up there as we see every time the Bluejays come to town.

Exactly why the M's would be opposed to it.

I think it would have less of an impact on the M's revenue than Portland would. There are some M's Fans in Vancouver but most baseball fans up there follow the Jays. Pretty much every baseball fan in the Portland Vancouver area follows the M's.

Is it a safe bet that any expansion teams that might be added will make it to a World Series before the Mariners ever do?

Probably.

I just wonder if Manfred is just touting the idea of an expansion to kick the As, Rays and possibly the Nationals into some sort of decision regarding sales, stadiums or relocations? Oakland and Tampa seem to be dragging their feet in particular and the threat of expansion will devalue both their franchises if they don’t act soon.

Since that rumour broke there is already a story about a new ball park in St Petersburg and there is a vote today in the Bay Area that might seal the As stadium plans. If they get the go ahead to stay then expansion will be the route for a team in Vegas.

A Vegas team will 99% certainly happen one way or another.

Wasn't sure what thread to put this under. Anybody a fan of the new 4th of July hats?
45 bucks for that?! Hat inflation is going crazy. Not really my style of hat personally.
Thanks for the good feedback guys.

If you like it, I think it's fine. Not something I see myself wearing though

I was on the fence. I love 4th of July, but $45 is a bit spendy, even for my budget.

If Ty France is hitting in the cages and stays out the minimum 10 day IL retroactive to June 24th...
Does that mean we might see him in the San Diego series? Thoughts?

Or is he on the Betty White / Justin Upton 28 day rehab like DTrain says???

Vancouver would add more money to the AL coffers than would Portland. You would have a geographic rivalry with Seattle, plus a national rivalry with Toronto! Sure, we have fans in Vancouver, but there are far more Blue Jay fans up there. Then too, travel for the Jays would be more efficient, or for that matter, any team coming up here. A three game set in Vancouver and another three games here would be preferable over Portland.
