Why do I get the feeling Lou would not have given them a pat on the fanny and said "that's baseball"

Good thing we kept Haggerty on the roster this week instead of sending him to the IL. If only someone could have guessed he wouldn't have much impact this week...

Glad that Tacoma has Trammell though. They certainly need him.

Jrod should've been stealing more bases in the minors.

Apparently he's like 6'1, 200 lbs and a switch hitter. Might not be an every day player, but if he can hit enough to be a 4th OF, that speed is elite. 11 HR as a switch hitter as well at 20 years old.

Every single hitter in the Rainiers lineup got a hit. Torrens with a HR. .375/1.052

One impact call up for each team. How does a reliever added to a great bullpen possibly have more potential impact than Trammell for an offense in desperate need of a bat to hit RH pitching...
Mariners: LHP Matthew Boyd
It’s not often that a seven-year veteran is considered a “callup,” but Boyd’s case is unique given he was acquired at the Trade Deadline and has been on a Minor League rehab assignment while recovering from a left elbow strain. So, the Seattle-area native hasn’t even made a contribution yet for the team he grew up rooting for. At his best, Boyd was one of the AL’s top strikeout starting pitchers, and the Mariners are hoping he can regain some of that mojo in a multi-inning, lefty specialist role out of the bullpen. -- Daniel Kramer

They can save 2 days of Brash/Festa/other salary with the callup of Boyd and sending down a reliever, since they have to pay Boyd anyway.

They optioned down Evan White, he doesn't get to 3 years of service time. I suspect they keep him down all next year too, unless he is hitting the cover off the ball.

They could call up Trammell, but they only face one RH starting pitcher, the next 3 days. In fact they could wait until Sept. 2 and save 2.5K for one day.
