Not as much energy in the lineup without Lewis... that is evident...

Well... when 7-9 are a combined 5 for like 65... energy is on short supply.

I wonder how good Walker would be as a reliever. Now I think he's good enough to stick as a starter, but would he be more valuable as a reliever?
Tai has a career 3.96 ERA as a starter w. a 32/32 overall record.

That will stick in anyone's rotation.
Yeah, but how many good starters would be dominant relievers, and could some make more money and have more impact as a reliever? Its an interesting debate, but Its easier to find relievers.
A starter will almost never make more as a reliever.

So is Lewis getting the day off just for the sake of it? Because if so that makes zero sense whatsoever. If Gordon and Maalox were at least performing at 2019 level you can see giving one of them playing time, but putting both of them in the lineup today is a big FU to the young players and the fans.

Even still... Lopes should be hitting in place of one of the clowns...

but Mallex, Dee and the backup catcher is asking for a loss lol

Not even trying to be competitive.

You wonder what Dee Gordon and Mallex Smith think when they look in the mirror at night.

Gordon's $13.5 million is now 3 for 22 w/ 1 extra base hit.
Gordon and Maalox are now a combined 5-50. They're not even trying at this point.
I just wonder what Scott says to them behind closed doors.

I'd love to hear their conversations.

That's pretty much 100 percent true for someone with the five years' service time. You have to suck as a starter and get converted before then, like Andrew Miller did.

Yes, the clowns in the booth said that Lewis need a day off because the summer camp was so short. I AM NOT JOKING. :| :| :| :|
