Misiewicz is putting the brakes on the Dodger offense... he's dealing tonight...
Re: First Win of Winning Streak Game Thread
We hold the option on him. I think the 2 year extension is possible, if he keeps swinging.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 3:10 amThats where I'm at. He's been a huge part of the lineup. I don't think teams will be sniffing around for a guy with that albatross of a contract, except maybe the Yankees, and they're already set at the position. If the talent on the team gels to a point where it becomes seriously competitive by 2022, and Noelvi is groomed as the next 3B, Seager would be a great guy to get on a year-over-year contract as a transitional piece, as well as defensive mentor. And if he's still hitting, well, stick him at 2B.![]()
SS Crawford
2B Moore
LF Lewis
3B Seager
RF Haniger
CF Kelenic

Util Lopes, OF Fraley, inf Long.
Mariners have the option for Seager in 2022, right? Maybe they can give him an extension for 2 years instead of the option.
Here's something else to think of: Corey Seager is a FA at the end of this season. Despite being a Boras client, a great pipe dream would be to sign him, move Crawford to 2B, keep Kyle at 3B, and if Marte is the 3B heir apparent, our infield is set for a number of years.
Again. Pipe dream. But a nice one.

Re: outfield alignment. Doesn't Haniger have the strongest arm of the 3 followed by Kelenic? Also, Doesn't Kelenic have more range than Lewis? However you line them up, its an above average defensive outfield with a ton of offensive potential. I just think Lewis-Kelenic-Haniger maximizes each players strengths.IStillLoveTheMs wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 3:16 am1B - White

Yeah, but Crawfords biggest advantage is his ability to play 2B. Not sure he has as much value at 2B. Obviously you sign a star, but I'd prefer spending the money on a stud DH, or a starting pitcher.Petert wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 3:19 amWe hold the option on him. Also, I think Seager still has 1 more year after this one before becoming a FA.

>>I stand corrected. Corey is eligible for arbitration for 2021, and a FA for 2022. Still, nice timing.Petert wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 3:19 amWe hold the option on him. My preference is to have a righty in left and a lefty in right for throws in the corner so they don't have to spin... I'd say Haniger and Kelenic have comprable arms. Also I just think Lewis has earned CF at this point.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 3:20 amRe: outfield alignment. Doesn't Haniger have the strongest arm of the 3 followed by Kelenic? Re: First Win of Winning Streak Game Thread
Crawford batting .193 in August with a .482 OPS.
Is he really the future at SS?

I think they would keep the veteran in his spot in RF though. Hopefully Haniger is healthy and we get to see what they do next year.IStillLoveTheMs wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 3:30 amMy preference is to have a righty in left and a lefty in right for throws in the corner so they don't have to spin... Re: First Win of Winning Streak Game Thread
I like the idea of staying young.... rather than bringing middle age free agents.... Assembling a whiz kid machine and spending the money on keeping the guys together....but that's just me....
Right now I am so far up on cloud nine after 17 days of watching Ronnie O'Sullivan's journey to the World Championship.. everything looks rosy to me... It's been seven years since his last world championship and he's taken some brutal beats in those years....I just elated......

He's the immediate future. We'll see what happens over the next few years. I don't think moving him to 2B is really an option because his defense has been better than his bat.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 3:31 amCrawford batting .193 in August with a .482 OPS.
