Cause his last year with the M's he fell off the edge of the table at the same time Sexson did. It was a waste of money as they should have had him on a year to year contract.
Meh. If any M in the next decade puts up a .381 OBP I'll donate my fkn kidney.
Fine, just don't do it as a wasted DH spot.

Vidro was 14th of 16 in OPS as a DH in his good year with the M's. Absolute trash.
I mean you have to also consider 5 of those guys are HOF's... 7 if you didn't know about steroids lol... I'd be pretty content with a .381 OBP and .775 OPS.

Are we really doing this again?
Never seen anything like it. I think prior to each game, we should all take bets on what inning the M's will get their first base hit.

I think I'm going to take a break from ranking on Scott Servais, and focus on Tim Laker. WTF qualifies him as a hitting coach ?
Tim Laker: "Coaching-wise, I try to model my style after certain coaches that I had in the minor leagues. The one that stands out the most to me — probably one of my favorites — was Jim Tracy. He was my manager in Triple-A one year. I felt like he really cared. He wanted his players to succeed…I felt like he genuinely cared. That’s the one thing that I try do, is I try to develop relationships with everybody, so that they feel like I’m genuinely hoping that they succeed. I think that goes a long way when players feel you’re not in it for you and you’re in it for them. That’s how I model how I coach".

In other words....he cares.

Good point. And if Torrens comes back up and lights it up, we can definitely look at Laker.
I think if Torrens comes back and lights it up, we can look at sorcery. :D

I know a lot of people who care about things immensely but fucking suck at them. Take 99.9% of golfers.

So THAT's why he's in uniform. He cares. Typical M's thinking. We don't give a rip about winning.

The guy has 9 SO's and SS is pulling him? Hell, let him finish out the inning! Fucking SS!

Maybe he should worry less about being their buddies, and help them figure out why they couldn't hit a fucking beach ball at this point.

Judging from Laker's career MiLB and MLB batting, he needed all the sympathy he could get.

On Laker:

"Laker was named in the Mitchell Report, which detailed anabolic steroid use in MLB, on December 13, 2007. As a current ball club employee, Laker was required to consent to an interview, in which he admitted to purchasing Deca-Durabolin and testosterone from Kirk Radomski from 1995 to 1999. Laker claimed he was introduced to Radomski by teammate David Segui. In March 2008, Laker admitted regretting his decision to take performance-enhancing drugs stating, "I made a poor decision, a mistake, and all I can do is ask for forgiveness and move on."

Funny thing is, it didn't even help.

But it obviously summarizes his philosophy as a hitting coach: "Ask for forgiveness and move on".

In the meantime, I'm not letting my diatribe take away from the fact that Dunn pitched very well. Good on him. I hope he continues with it.
