Vogelbach hasn't proved that he is an MLB hitter to me. Since may 1st he is hitting .197 with a .721 OPS. Since the all star break he has hit .168 with a .670 OPS. in the month of August he has hit .131 with a .565 OPS. Honestly if it wasn't so close to September, he should really be in AAA.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 5:41 amWell, first off, you are comparing fringe prospects that both are likely 4th outfielders with blue chip prospects. Second, both have a pretty small sample size. I'm not sure if Fraley will be an every day player or not, but he deserves a chance to see what he can do as a regular day player. Much like Vogelbach. He proved that he is an MLB hitter, after struggling with much of his time last year.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 5:18 amReally disappointed in Fraley even though he wasn't doing much in Tacoma either. Every other team has rookies that come up and do well, some even really well, and then even some like Acuna/Soto/Alonso, but every rookie we call up falls on his face (Crawford doesn't count). Why do our rookies like Fraley and Bishop come up and hit worse than most pitchers?
All 3 of these guys are flawed prospects (Bishop, Fraley, Vogelbach). Even Mike Trout struggled his first time in the MLB.
I have hope that Fraley can be an every day CF, at least for a few years while he's cheap, but he needs time. It took him a few weeks to adjust to AAA. He probably will need to spend more time there next year as well.

Funny you mention that, it actually did happen to the Minneapolis Lakers, in the closest call ever for an American professional sports team: https://nypost.com/2009/02/08/1960-lake ... eir-lives/Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 3:42 pmHey, they can still glide to a "safe" landing in a corn field, as long as they break a few bones here and there.

I hate to say it but he has completely failed to make adjustments after his awesome start. He needs to do that over the final month.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 6:13 pmVogelbach hasn't proved that he is an MLB hitter to me. Since may 1st he is hitting .197 with a .721 OPS. True, but still, 4-43 combined? That's a lot more dingy than fringyJuliooooo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 5:41 amWell, first off, you are comparing fringe prospects that both are likely 4th outfielders with blue chip prospects. We need to extend Broxton's "Thrown out of the game" a few more games...

A good nickname for Broxton might be "The Glove", but Gary Payton's already claimed it. For different reasons.

He's struggled a bit, but much worse against lefties. He might be a platoon guy at best, but he can hit rightiesCaptain 97 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 6:13 pmVogelbach hasn't proved that he is an MLB hitter to me. That's 24 AB for 1 and 19 for the other. Hardly a sample size we should judge them off of.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 6:21 pmTrue, but still, 4-43 combined?
