I guess what I mean is that I highly doubt our opening day lineup looks any better than it did to start this season. We will have a few bats that we hope can either get better than they have been or rekindle the kind of numbers they had two or three years ago. This money won't be spent on anything that makes us a better team. We will hear how what we have right now is ready to erupt and the guys we brought in will provide the extra push.
Kelenic was supposed to take the next step. Wong was supposed to be a guy jump starting the offense at the top of the lineup. How about the huge numbers from Teoscar, the next step that France took, the huge production we got from LaStella...the list goes on and on. THAT is what we will spend this money on. More garbage that we HOPE will either become what they used to be or take a next step that more than likely never occurs.
I apologize if I don't give a fuck about the millions saved by an ownership group making millions and millions and millions, and could sell the franchise for WAY more than they have ever spent. There is no salary cap, but Mariner fans have to continually talk about "money saved" because this tight ass franchise is only worried about profits. If losing ball games cost them money? They will care, but since it doesn't cost them money? They worry about money first and wins second.
