Mariners doing what the mariners do. It is just the Mariner way. Sad.

My question is how on earth are the Astros still in first place, after losing Bregman, Tucker, and Alvarez, and leading the league in the list of most injured players all season.

Two healthy starting pitchers for most of the year.
Its because the mariners aren't playing up to their potential
Of ALL the Captain Obvious things you have ever said on this forum and going back to the Seattle Times, this is the most obvious Capt. Obvious thing you have ever said. :P :P :P - said to you all in good, clean fun, Donn!
Well perhaps, frankly, i think I've done better, but point taken. Okay, I'm going to defend it. It's about context, after that disaster of a road trip posters were writing the mariners off. But they still were within a couple of games of the lead. I said then, really all they needed to do was play to their potential and they would probably catch the Astros. I was alluding to that particular period. But maybe in fact this is their potential.

It seems to me we still strike out too much and don't put the ball in play enough to make a difference. My guess is that we are not very coachable offensively as we swing off balance and don't keep our head on the ball

Your post quality lately has been much better. I especially appreciate that you seem to more frequently quote people directly now, which is more like an actual conversation, as opposed to these statements that would simply appear on their own and the reader was never quite sure who Donn was responding to. You also aren't doing the passive aggressive thing nearly as much, which was infuriating.

Well I stopped sniffing glue, that might be it. I actually would avoid quoting to break the extended post it can create, seemed messy to me, didn't mean to be obtuse. I enjoy conversation, that's what drives my participation. Seems like if you try to probe someone's opinion its seen as confrontational. Jousting can be fun but conversation is what's interesting
