It's not judging, it's the fact that pretty much no other team has rookies come up and do that.

that was my point before, how do you platoon him?...You are not going to platoon him at at first base once White comes up. A platoon DH? Not using a roster spot for thatHe's struggled a bit, but much worse against lefties. He might be a platoon guy at best, but he can hit righties

I don't know, but he's good enough against righties that you at least find a way, at least until you have a better option.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 10:04 pmthat was my point before, how do you platoon him?...You are not going to platoon him at at first base once White comes up. Good stuff - you possess a wealth of weird knowledge about interesting and offbeat events of the past. That was an awesome read.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 6:16 pmFunny you mention that, it actually did happen to the Minneapolis Lakers, in the closest call ever for an American professional sports team: https://nypost.com/2009/02/08/1960-lake ... eir-lives/Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 3:42 pmHey, they can still glide to a "safe" landing in a corn field, as long as they break a few bones here and there.

Just leaving this here in case anyone thinks a baseball team hasn’t undergone a similar experience:

Just imagine if they'd pulled a HollyValensBopper. I don't know if they had a dispersal draft plan back then (they do now) or if they would have folded the franchise altogether and never moved to Los Angeles.. The history of the NBA changes so very drastically if that plane goes down. For instance, the Celtics probably win several more titles. And Rudy Tomjanovich doesn't get his face caved in.Petert wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:07 amBest sports article I’ve read all year.
