The lineup today had 3 returning starters from last season.

Not sure how many teams see that kind of turnover after a season where they missed the playoffs by one game.

Doing it when you're not sure how any of the new guys will do with T-Mobile as their Home park seems like season suicide to me.
This is what happens when you only develop 2 hitters. Rest are short time rentals-Garver, Mitch, Polanco, etc.

Cal and Julio! That’s it.

Rest are just Dipoto doing his trade thing or cheap FA.

My god......what the hell is going on with this organization????

I know it's early, but.....wow

what a dumpster fire

Scotty is already getting tired of the slow start questions. That guy is such a lapdog.

Don't be fooled by Austin Voth's success on the mound so far. He has brought doom and destruction to this team by his mere presence and they will continue to struggle in the pall he casts over the entire organization. I tried to warn this forum nearly two years ago of the dangers he posed, but you wouldn't listen:

Now how do you explain that? The Vothman hath arrived, may the good Lord have mercy on our souls.

Gilbert has a few of these a year. When he starts doing it every 3-4 games, it isn’t his awesome self at least 75 % of games, I’ll be more worried.

The offense on the other hand. I think they’ll be better later in the year. And I think it will probably be too late.

Polanco only had 59 plate appearances in 2023 batting in either the 3 or 4 holes.

But the Mariners acquired him to be one of their middle of the order bats.

We have a team full of guys that should be batting 2nd or 6th, but no actual MOTO hitters.
You misspelled "9th". 😄
Geez, no kidding.

Before today the Mariners had more negative WAR from their offensive players than positive WAR.

They had -0.8 WAR from the negative guys and 0.7 WAR from the positive players, and that probably gets worse after today if these bums don't pick it up.

Yep negative WAR. 25th

It can be argued that FA hitters don’t want to come here because ownership doesn’t want to pay anywhere close to top dollar for talent.
Exactly and welcome to the Forum!!! Misery loves company. lol

How slow is Garver? Jesus...
Their big FA signing is an injury prone one dimensional player that hit in Texas pretty well for half a season and they act like they should get a Medal of Honor for spending.
