Yeah, took that as sarcasm, the key to a successful off season for him would be to do nothing... Don't just do something, stand there!
It's sort of sarcasm but there's some truth there as well. He really isn't that great at putting together a team. BPJ has covered this pretty well. And it's not like he hasn't had resources. He just doesn't know what to do with them. So from that perspective, maybe the do nothing strategy is the best way to go.

Of course Dip is trying to say he's an amazing hitter that will really impact our lineup. Well that's all we needed folks, we can rest easy now....

Not going to pretend I love it but he should be reliable for a mid 700s OPS if used correctly.

Also his T-mobile stat line looks good in a limited sample size.
11-29 with 2 doubles and 3 walks .379/.429/.448 for a .903 OPS

One would think that Solano couldn't be worse than the last three guys we put at second (assuming that's where he's going, he might play third), but he also has that one-year-too-late look written all over him.

And if there was even a small chance we'd go after Alonso or Bregman, ownership will say "Sorry, we've only got 12 million dollars left". They literally don't even care.

Always pleased to get a 37 year old, 5'8" utility player from a Cracker Jack box of stale, caramelized popcorn and peanuts.
He's played more 1B & 3B the last 3 years than 2B.
He does make contact and hits some singles and doubles. Decent fielder, so there's that. 40 homeruns in an 11 year career.

.....and who was dfa'd to make room? .....same type of player Dipoto seems to always dfa, a lefthanded relief pitcher.

Oh, the joys of the 2025 off-season keep rolling in. Hope is a 4-letter word.
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

The Athletic mentions the Dodgers, Rangers, Cubs and Mariners are clubs that are thought to be in the mix. It’s unknown if Sasaki will visit with any of those other clubs but resolution is coming soon, with more information perhaps trickling out in the coming days.
Strange the lack of clarity

So it's BPJ's fault then. :D His assessment of Solano reminds one of A.J. Pollock, we signed him for that very same reason.
