When he hits 8 homeruns in 8 consecutive days, we'll talk.

I went to the 9th game when he hit one to the warning track. Ron Fairly's call on his 8th was epic.

Hanger played in Arizona before he got to Seattle. If you are going to count him then you should count Nelson Cruz who only needed 4 seasons to hit 163 bombs.

So the question is "do you think Cal will hit 40 home runs this season?".

No.

No, it’s the first five seasons kind of counting from the rookie year, which is usually cut in half or more.

Nelson Cruz was a veteran by time. He got here and had just entered his peak.

vs

Mitch, who had only played in like 30 games in MLB

He only needs 39 to tie Jr. and that is only 4 more than his career high set last year. Plus with the torpedo bat he is assured to plant the flag barring injury. Even if he stays relatively healthy he is for sure going to be no lower than 2nd. That is amazing considering we had guys like Jr, ARod, Edgar, Seager, Even Mitch would have been way higher up if he had stayed healthy. Speaking of health most catchers don’t get in the # of games Cal does and he has stayed healthy even with all those foul balls and bats swinging around and nailing him dozens of times a season.

Seems like A-Rod is being left out here for no reason.
So Alex, I didn't even know this, played 17 gms in '94 at 18 yo. That year should be tossed. 17 games is a small sample
Then in '95 he plays 48 at age 19, hits 5 bombs in limited PAs (149). Are we going to count that as a season?

then in '96 at 20: 36
97: 23
98: 42
99: 42

5 yr total from age 19-23: 148

His 1996 season, given his age was one of the best seasons of all time.

Yes if they didn't idiotically start his clock at age 18 for no reason he is on the 2001 team and we likely win the WS. Cursed franchise.
