Bryce Miller placed on the 15 day IL effective 5/12

And this is why you don’t rely on 2nd year pitchers to carry your ball club.

You invest in offense to make the team more well rounded.

Stupid fucks.

Isn't that the same diagnosis (elbow inflammation) as Gilbert's? I really don't like the way pitching has evolved to where you have to throw 100 mph every other pitch. What happened to simply throwing a slower change-up or curve so that you don't need to dial it up so much on the fastball? It seemed to work for Moyer and thousands of other pitchers back in the day.
Did sign stealing kill the art of pitching?

I predicted this, last week I believe. I said they should be looking at trades for starting pitchers. It's been obvious that Miller wasn't right.

Hopefully it’s nothing more. I’m always worried about “elbow inflammation.” MRI might not have detected anything, but those aren’t perfect. If can get Kirby back by next Thursday (rehab start Friday and then with the team Thursday) we will have Kirby, Hancock, Woo and Castillo against Houston. We also will get Woo, Castillo, Evans against CWS. That just leaves a rough series against SD with Diaz, Hancock, Evans. I think a series win there would be a small miracle.

Our exemplary starting pitching staff is now 1 deep. Mr. Woo. So he should start every game and turn it over to Mr. Munoz in the 9th, every time out. Problem solved.

Going with Diaz in his 5.87 ERA over Lao and his 1.56 ERA in 6 starts would be odd but seems like something they would do.

When is he aligned to start though? I’m guessing game 2 in SD. I hadn’t thought about it much, but decent chance of bringing him up the day before. When did Lao start last?

Edit, looks like Loa started yesterday, and he pitched just 3 innings. 17.1 ip in 6 starts, so not sure they want to bring him up to start and pitch 2-3 innings. Not sure Lao is the solution.

Yeah I just saw that they brought Diaz up. Boy starting a guy who had a 5.87 ERA in AAA that's going to be fun to watch
