Mon 25th - Vedder Cup on the line GT.
Yes, we lead 3-0 in the 6 game Vedder Cup series that we have all been looking forward to all season. So just 1 win is all we need to secure this prestigious title. Fk the World Series lads, its all about the Vedder Cup.
We will all be delighted if these expected lineups stay as they are because Garver is doing really well in the DH slot. He had a terrific weekend, specifically brought in to counter the dangerous lefty pitching of the As. Another lefty today, so Garver will surely continue in the role - let's pray he does.
Sunday
1st: Garver flied out to center.
3rd: Garver walked.
3rd: Garver flied out to left.
6th: Garver flied out to left.
Saturday
2nd: Garver popped out to second.
4th: Garver lined out to center.
7th: Garver flied out to left.
The trophy itself was designed by Eddie Vedder himself - he must have taken weeks and weeks to come up with a guitar shaped trophy. Last time in SD he popped into the commentary box of both broadcasters so there's something to look forward to if he's up in Seattle this week, I'm sure he'll be presenting the trophy on Wednesday night.
Finally, as always from "over the pond", some history on Pearl Jam from over here. Whilst they were massive in the States, they were more of a niche taste. They had a big cult following but never really hit the mainstream. The 90s were a barren wasteland for music so you'd think they would have broken through as mainstream, but I think they only did 1 tour over here. In that era there were many Britpop groups that dominated the domestic scene. I'm sure if their time was now with social media to promote them, they'd have been more widely known.
You wouldn't find many Brits, maybe Europeans able to give much trivia about them - in fact if you asked the question "Who is the lead vocalist of Pearl Jam" on a trivia or quiz night, 99 times out of a hundred people wouldn't know without the help of Google.
I did go to the Friday and Sunday games in SD back in May the Mariners played brilliantly, so lets hope for more of the same.

Padres are gonna be coming for our heads for what was done to them on thier turf. Not gonna be a pretty picture they are so much better then they were then. Hopefully we can continue to tough at home and fix our road issues!!!
Facing a very very lethal bullpen so have to keep these games close. Or our offense needs to hand it to them!!!

I think we should work it to our advantage. This isn't your father's Padres. These Padres are bent on competing, they spend money. So lets be rivals, compete against them. If this was on par with the Yankees-Red Sox there would be a lot more pressure to be less patientDanielVogelbach wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 1:50 amI almost posted something similar. So dumb.
