Magic Number Thread.

Magic number = any combination of Mariner Wins and Team X losses that will result in The M's finishing above team X in the standings.

12 games left to play.

Houston = 11 if the M's win the tie breaker, 12 if Houston wins the tie breaker. Tie breaker will be determined by the winner of the upcoming head to head series.

Texas = 9

Cleveland = 9

Kansas City = 5 If the M's win the tie breaker, 6 if KC wins the tie breaker. Tie breaker will be determined by the winner of the upcoming head to head series.

Tampa Bay = 4

Sacramento = 1

Baltimore = 1

Teams that cannot finish ahead of the M's: Anaheim, Minnesota, Chicago

Other teams currently in playoff position that could come into play for playoff seeding.

Toronto = 19

Detroit = 15

New York = 15

Boston = 12 If the M's Win the Tie Breaker, 13 if Boston wins the tiebreaker. Tie Breaker will be determined by which team has the better record against their own division. M's are currently 31-18 in division with 3 division games remaining. Boston is currently 28-18 in division with 6 division games remaining.

That Houston series is now even more massive. Effectively worth an extra 0.5 win in the standings as the tie-breaker is on the line.

Like this thread Capt. Didn't you do a similar one the year we made it in?

Great stuff, do we need to add the Ms hold the tiebreaker over the Tigers after beating them 4-2 in the regular season series? Or have you already calculated that in? I guess you will have.
