Espada AL Manager of the Year.
Tons of injuries all year.
Record numbers.
Patchwork pitching.
Not to mention the loss of studs Bregman, Tucker, and Alvarez, for almost a whole year.
By rights, they have no business even being .500.

Re: If Astros win Division…
The biggest joke of an award is Manager/Coach Of The Year. They pretty much always give it to the guy who's managing or coaching the "unexpected" contender, the "Cinderella" team.
NBA Coach Of The Year, for instance. Know how many times Phil Jackson and Steve Kerr won the award? Once apiece. Apparently if you coach some of the best players in the league, you can't be that good of a coach no matter how many championships you win. Even in 1979 when the Sonics won the title, Cotton Fitzsimmons won the award for coaching the Kings to a 48-34 record and a 4-1 wipeout by the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs.
And NFL Coach Of The Year, where Bill Belichik has won six Super Bowls but only three Coach Of The Year awards. Apparently a monkey could coach Tom Brady to a championship. When the Hawks won the Super Bowl, Ron Rivera won Coach Of The Year for coaching the Panthers to a 12-4 record and a first-round ass-kicking by the 49ers.
It's a dumb award.

Has anyone ever come up with a consensus as to what constitutes a great manager?DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 19, 2025 4:24 pmThe biggest joke of an award is Manager/Coach Of The Year. sorry but dreaming big is the Mariners knocking off the Dodgers in the WS. The Dodgers are the evil empire at this point. The mariners do that and dipoto never has to pay for his drink the rest of his lifeCoeurd’Alene J wrote: ↑Sat Sep 20, 2025 10:31 amLet’s dream big
