GT #162 LAD vs SEA

Post by Pharmabro » Sun Sep 28, 2025 5:39 am

This has been said to be Clayton Kershaw's final start.

There is a lot of counting stats that matter:

Cal MVP: with each HR goes up, with each everything goes up.

Randy could go 30-30

But finishing strong matters. I don't want to be swept. Not a good look.

the Dodger series has no more significance to the playoffs than spring training has to the regular season, other than Kirby and Gilbert looking pretty good, Ford had a nice game
“Harry did a great job,” said Gilbert. “From the scouting report to the game plan on, very prepared, knew what he wanted to do, did a ton of reasearch on each hitter but condensed it, and then on the field, really good blocks behind the plate with that splitter, slider…I didn’t always make it easy on him and he did a good job back there. Sequencing was great I kind of shook off here and there because I was picky trying to get to certain pitches but I could have easily just let him do his thing and I think all the pitch calling was really good.”

Not strictly true apparently... World Series home advantage was up for grabs. If we had won this series we would have had home advantage in games 6 and 7 against everyone from the NL apart from Philly and Milwaukee.

Now we only have home advantage if we meet SD, CIN or NYM. We need to win today and hope CHC lose otherwise its Game 7 in Wrigley ;)

But let's not get ahead of ourselves i think we would be happy to play Game 6 or 7 on the planet Jupiter if that meant we had actually made it to a World Series.

That was the way beteeen 2003 to 2016. It only became a thing after the 2002 when the AS game ended a tie because there were no pitchers left. MLB were furious and wanted to make the AS game count for something.

Instead they spent another decade debating the fairness of a wildcard team getting to the WS and home advantage because of an AS game win.

so I understand that the crowd at the dodgers series is decidedly pro dodgers. So if the mariners were to end up playing the dodgers in a WS matchup is that what we should look forward to for our home games?

Thousands of Dodgers jerseys on the streets Friday night. I am still depressed about the Husky Game yesterday. The build up was so amazing and then to just give the game away with stupidity. I am about done with Fisch.
