He just doesn't know if it'll be before or during Spring Training. If you also remember when we traded for Jorge Polanco, it came in February. So yay, Good News!

That would be nice but I will believe it when I see it and what is the hold up???

If he can't do it now what makes him think it will happen during ST???

Jorge Polanco deal took multiple years to get done. I'm sure they could decide between Hoerner, Donovan, or something else that we haven't heard yet. They're being patient. I'm cool with that. Pitchers and Catchers haven't even reported yet. Chillax homie! 8-)

Tomorrow is February and our biggest new addition is a 35 yo short side platoon bat that can't play D.

Does Jerry consider Eugenio as that big bat.

I will praise Jerry’s name when he signs someone worth bragging about

Yeah I hope not. Not to say that I don't love Geno, or appreciate him, but his strikeout numbers in Seattle blue just kill me.

He said this in terms of re-signing Geno the other day. I'd say that's pretty accurate as well as indicating it's unlikely to happen
He fits emotionally ... but that could be problematic in continuing to build our roster,"

TRANSLATION: "At the last moment we're going to do what we did last year and out of desperation re-sign Suarez and hope he miraculously hits like Polanco."

I don't know why Geno would be a problem for the roster, unless it was a multi year deal... which might be where they're apart.

Just throwing some cash at him on a one year deal to hope he comes in and does better than Ben Williamson seems like a decent bet though.

Better than Ben Williamson seems like a pretty low bar..

It's not like they're going to spend the money they'd be paying Geno on anybody else. We can probably all agree on that.

I'd take him, just because of the low bar.

And either way, it's Dipoto's fault for letting it come to this.
