Saturday Night Baseball:

Bryan Woo v Joey Cantillo, A young lefty with good stuff but can be wild so anything can happen here.

First pitch: 6:40 PM PDT (9:40 PM EDT / 1:40 AM GMT / 2:40 BST).

Clocks go forward here 40 minutes before the game starts - so no idea what time it really starts. Stupid Daylight saving - then again, next time we dick around with the clocks over here is during the World Series, so that would be a nice problem to have in the autumn/fall.

Team stats:
AB: 58
1B: 0
2B: 2
3B: 1
HR: 6
SO: 24
BB: 9
AVG: .155
OBP: .269
OPS: .803

Go M's

35.8% strikeout rate so far...

Looks like T-Mobile is already T-Mobile'ing.

Hitting a homerun in over 10% of their at bats with an .800+ team OPS will get the job done though.

Show me your dingers because the singles ain't mingling.

Really glad to see they put Woo in front of Castillo. He earned it.

Hopefully Kirby can give Woo a competition for the opening day role next season.

Also good to see contributions from pretty much everyone else besides the guys you'd expect it. Could easily be 0-2 now based off how the heart of the order has hit.

What's the weather conditions in Seattle compared to Arizona currently? It could be making it difficult for hitters terms of that adjustment. Hasn't seemed to bother Donovan much

Do other teams have better AAA relief pitching depth?

Better than a guy that has pitched one inning in the big leagues and has an minor league era of almost 4. Yes I would think so.

I suspect if a guy does pitch well he doesn't last long in the minor leagues. Who knows anyway. I am not concerned about past performance as much as what the mariners think they can get out of a guy currently. I'm not sure of the relationship in the first place. Wilcox throws hard, 11 Ks in eight innings this spring? What happened to the guy that was pitching well with the 6+era last season? Hancock is starting, who else is there?

The point is that they allocated zero dollars to the pen and have a bunch of slop to show for it. We have 3 good relievers atm. And that is why we won last night. But the three good guys can't pitch every night.

Every season you complain about that and every season they come up with a top ten BP don't they?
