The pitching on this team needs to be elite if they're going to get to the WS, and it ain't lookin good.

Id say the goal is to win the division, make the playoffs. Elite, I don't know if there's a team with a deeper rotation. It's not so much their one and two as who they can roll out there 4,5,6. It's a long season, that's really where they could have an edge in pitching.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 4:46 amThe pitching on this team needs to be elite if they're going to get to the WS, and it ain't lookin good.

11:15 AM start—fair play to you all, that’s some properly horrible unsociable timing to have to suffer through this baseball malarkey.

That might be your goal (and Jerry's) but if they hope to win playoff series against teams like NYY, DET, and TEX and get to a WS the Mariners will need at least one SP to step up and pitch like a legit ace. Otherwise they will get brushed aside by those teams which all have better front ends to their rotations as of now.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 7:34 amId say the goal is to win the division, make the playoffs. NY: Fried, Schlittler
Det: Skubal, Valdez
Tex: deGrom, Eovaldi
Also, CLE with Messick, Williams and Cantillo or Bibee as a #3 would match up favorably with us.

I love morning baseball and football! I would have to be offered a job making over $1M a year to move back to the East Coast!!!mostonmike wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 5:10 pm11:15 AM start—fair play to you all, that’s some properly horrible unsociable timing to have to suffer through this baseball malarkey.

Gilbert and Castillo have been sucking and Hancock turned into a bit of a pumpkin his last start. I still can't believe what happened to Woo yesterday. Right now we have Kirby and Miller who is on the IL throwing well.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 5:13 pmThat might be your goal (and Jerry's) but if they hope to win playoff series against teams like NYY, DET, and TEX and get to a WS the Mariners will need at least one SP to step up and pitch like a legit ace.
