That's crazy, Julio, J.P., Randy & Ref all ending up with 10 HR's apiece :( .

w/o seeing things extrapolated, I'd guess that Arozarena and Raley would, by far, have the greatest OPS on the team. With that in mind, I would put J.P. 9th in the batting order; lots of BB's, so second leadoff hitter before:

1.) Luke Raley*
2.) Cole Young*
3.) Randy Arozarena
4.) Julio Rodriguez
5.) Cal Raleigh#
6.) Dominic Canzone*
7.) Josh Naylor*
8.) Leo Rivas# ( :x ), Will Wilson
9.) J.P. Crawford*

I wasn't considering the L/R and/or platoon in this imagining scenario. Didn't want to over-think it.
Brendan Donovan* coming back will push Leo out, maybe to Tacoma if WW shows a flash of life. Rivas is a very weak sauce switch hitter#.

Why is Gabe Speier* on your list? Does he play 3B now? :P

Wish the M's had claimed Andy Ibáñez (bats R) instead of the Mets. He plays all four infield positions and the OF. His bat sucks in 2026, but he's been adequately solid batting in previous years. Great fielder.

Yup. 19.75% through the season. Currently on pace for 81-81 - .500. That would dismally suck. All our pitchers need to up their game 7.5%. All of our hitters need to up their game 15%; in Cal's case, 35%. In the case of Rivas, well, Fuck Off Leo.

When extrapolating out team record and run diff, we're going to be 81-81 and +35 run differential.

I picked 84-78 and +5, so leader of that contest at the 1/5 line.

No idea why Gabe is on the list but he is always on it. LOL maybe he pinch hit for Raley one time. LMAO

:P M's need to go 80-50 .615 the rest of the way to get to my 96-66 prediction :P

Dear Seattle Mariners,

YOU CAN DO IT!

Cole Young's unlikely projected 9 bWAR is mentioned in this comp with Red Sox second baseman Marcelo Mayer:

No way Raley bats lead off as he strikes out too much and is too streaky. I hope I’m wrong but I think he isn’t going to get better. Great physical specimen but missing some intangible

Raley is way too inconsistent. For 2 weeks he was the best hitter on the team and the last 2 weeks arguably the worst. I can recall 3-4 ABs where he was down right embarrassing. His defense is average at best. When Robles returns I could see him being a 7th-8th inning defensive replacement for Luke.

The intangible is that he doesn't hit well if he isn't playing every day and he will never do that here so they should probably trade him to some team that will.

Case in point. During his hot streak he played all 7 games in 7 days and had 26 PAs almost 4 per game. Here was the result:

Then they started PHing him and benching him vs. lefty starters and in the next 11 days he only played in 9 games and barely got more than 2 PAs per game. This was the result:

Coincidence???? I think not.
