Who would have ever thought that over swinging for power, since that's what gets you paid, would impact your contact and K rate? Oh, wait, everyone. But let's pay him anyway, before someone else does. I mean, it worked so well with White, and would have been such a success story if JK had just signed. Why not go for third times a charm?D-train wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2026 4:48 pmWhen Colt was raking with minimal power but great contact rates and a high OBP in A ball, I was told by all the amateur geniuses that he was sure to naturally develop power as he got older and "Filled out". My concern is that he would have to alter his approach to do so. Well he has now developed 20-25 HR power but surprise, surprise he now is hitting .227 with almost a 30% K rate. Just shocking.![]()

Gentle reminder that Jerry DiPoto won Exec of the year last season so you can't question his brilliance!!!Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2026 4:41 pmWho would have ever thought that over swinging for power, since that's what gets you paid, would impact your contact and K rate? It couldn't be for a simple reason like he was playing with an injured wrist, in which he kept playing and took a cortisone shot for the pain. For those who have not had one, it takes a few days for the cortisone to really help so it took a minute for him to feel better. When he did feel better he did this:D-train wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2026 5:16 pmGentle reminder that Jerry DiPoto won Exec of the year last season so you can't question his brilliance!!!Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2026 4:41 pmWho would have ever thought that over swinging for power, since that's what gets you paid, would impact your contact and K rate? Billy Beane's philosophy is that it is better to trade a player one year too early than one year too late. Our exec. of the year POBO obviously doesn't agree....And now we are stuck with a $40 million pound Albatross with Dreads....
