Castillo poll
Re: Castillo poll
I am cool with whatever they as long as Hancock stays in the rotation. Even the 6 man has merit based on this:

For all the belly aching I do feel like the Mariners are the sort of team that could just start reeling off winning streaks. The 10-12 sort of stuff, they have the rotation to do it. Castillo really is the issue. Wish dipoto would have taken my advice and traded his ass

Re: Castillo poll
Wouldn't Miller be the one to go to the bullpen rather than Hancock?
Re: Castillo poll
As do I. I have found that it is very easy to predict what Jerry will do. Just think about what I would do and then think of the opposite and that's what he will do. That's why I pushed back when you predicted that.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2026 10:36 pmFor all the belly aching I do feel like the Mariners are the sort of team that could just start reeling off winning streaks. Re: Castillo poll
I have been suggesting that but he pitched 61 pitches in the game last night and then went to the pen and threw more to stretch himself out even further. No way he does that if he was going to the pen.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2026 10:36 pmWouldn't Miller be the one to go to the bullpen rather than Hancock?

Re: Castillo poll
Speaking of the pen. Brock Moore has been incredible this season for the AquaSox. He struggled mightily to throw strikes last season. 28 walks in only 18 innings but now has only 2 in 12.2 innings. And an insane 26 Ks in those innings.
Moore impresses
Soon after the M’s wrapped up a series victory over Atlanta at T-Mobile Park on Wednesday afternoon, M’s pitching coach Pete Woodworth made the drive to Everett to support Miller.
Woodworth, as he does for most of the M’s starters, played catch with Miller on the Funko Field turf during warmups, and then was in the home dugout in full AquaSox uniform, to watch the game up close.
After Miller finished his outing, Woodworth retreated to the clubhouse for a short debrief with his starter, then came back into the AquaSox dugout late in the game to watch Brock Moore close out Everett’s 10-0 victory with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
Moore, a 6-foot-6 right-hander out of the University of Oregon, overcame several arm injuries in 2025 — including a dislocated right shoulder — to suddenly become one of the most intriguing arms in the Mariners’ system.
Through his first 10 appearances out of the AquaSox bullpen this season, Moore has a 1.46 ERA with a 26-to-2 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 12 2/3 innings. The Funko Field scoreboard flashed one of his final pitches at 100 mph Wednesday night, and his sweeper might be his most effective pitch.
“He’s legit,” one scout watching from behind the plate said.
Moore figures to earn a promotion to Double-A Arkansas in the near future, and if he performs well against Double-A hitters he’ll find his way onto the Mariners’ radar soon enough, with a promotion to Seattle a possibility this summer.

They should promote both Moore and Christian Little as soon as possible. Get them to Arkansas!D-train wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2026 12:33 amSpeaking of the pen.
