5/20 GT: No More Chumbawamba

I was originally going to call this thread "No More Norman Greenbaum," because, like the Mariners yesterday, he only had one hit. But his hit was great. It was a homerun. ("Spirit in the Sky", best psychedelic Christian rock song of all time and I don't even like Christian rock)

Chumbawamba had one hit and it was damn-near pointless.

Anyway, let's hope for less Chumbawamba and more Stevie Wonder (10 #1 hits).

Lineups later, yo

CCR didn't have a number one hit, they had multiple songs go to number two

Here's who kept CCR in the 2-spot:

Proud Mary
"Everyday People" - Sly And The Family Stone
"Dizzy" - Tommy Roe (What? Who?)

Bad Moon Rising
"Love Theme From Romeo And Juliet" - Henry Mancini (the Pink Panther guy)
"In The Year 2525" - Zager & Evans (uh...what)

Green River
"Sugar Sugar" - The Archies

Travelin' Band/Who'll Stop The Rain (double single)
"Bridge Over Troubled Water" - Simon And Garfunkel

Lookin' Out My Door/Long As I Can See The Light (double single)
"Ain't No Mountain High Enough" - Diana Ross

Also, Down On The Corner/Fortunate Son hit #3 and Up Around The Bend/Run Through The Jungle hit #4. I wonder why they released double singles? I don't think that was a common thing even back then, was it?

Looks like a pretty good day to be at the Park. I need to call in sick for a Wednesday game soon.

And you won't be lying because after a few innings of watching this offense you will literally be sick.

I'm thinking the first sign of sickness is tuning in to watch this horror show during the middle of the day. Plus we are listening to Aaron, Angie, and Ryan...What a broadcast crew...Jesus!
