8/7/2026 GT: How to lose and look bad doing it

Post by baller » Fri Aug 07, 2026 2:34 pm

First Pitch: 6:45 PM PDT
Location: T-Mobile Park
TV: Apple TV+
Radio: 710 AM KIRO

Pitching Matchup
-Mariners: RHP Logan Gilbert
-Rays: RHP Drew Rasmussen

Fresh off of watching another teams hit parade, the listless Mariners will get to watch another team show display the purpose is to hit the ball and score runs. The Rays are a well-coached disciplined team here to show us how a real organization runs a baseball team.

Logan Gilbert or Walter or whatever the hell he gets called takes the mound again, which means he'll probably throw 7 scoreless innings, strike out 9, and end up with a no-decision because the offense decides to put up 2 hits and 14 strikeouts on 88 pitches.

Maybe the lineups will be posted whenever the coaching staff finishes picking names out of a hat.

Although it's on Apple TV, the local ABC in the tri-cities is broadcasting it.
-I think-

Since my wife and boys are great, I still need my daily dose of disappointment, and this Mariner Team provide that.

Yeah so much dissatisfaction with this team and coaching staff. Can’t deny they are underperforming and Dan has no clue how to change that. Even Julio isn’t having his great 2nd half. Guess the good news is in a couple of weeks we will get to see Sloan maybe, Anderson , Arroyo and Laz for sure

Amazing, we're only three games back in a shitty division and it feels like there's no way we're going to make the playoffs. That series against the Tigers was as much of a morale killer as we've ever seen and it wasn't even a sweep.

This guy has the Mariners having the fifth-most "complete roster" yet are 17th in his Power Rankings. Sounds about right. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/494 ... ayoff-odds

You don't win games on paper. The only guys performing at or above the level we expected are Young and Randy. A bunch of underachieving check cashers. As likeable as a diaper rash.

Looking forward to seeing Robles pitch tonight - he looked better than Seranthony Dominguez who has an ERA of 108.00 for the Mariners.

If Dominguez does manage a full inning tonight without allowing an earned run, he will join Robles on an ERA of 27.00.

My sleep has been amazing this summer. Last thing I needed was a season like last year. Setting alarms for 2am.... pffffttt!

Go M's, I guess?
