I just looked at LeClerc's stats last year and considering where he pitches his home games he was as good as any relief pitcher in baseball. This year so far he stinks. That's how fickle relief pitching is and why it wasn't crushing to trade Edwin Diaz, especially if Jared Kelenic and Justin Dunn turn out to be good ones.

Thank goodness LeClerc has fully recovered from her recent wardrobe malfunction:
RotoWire News: Leclerc (calf) said the injury that prompted his removal from Monday's game was due to commemorative cleats worn for Memorial Day, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports. (5/29/2019)

So is he just a 1 or 2 inning starter today? He started a game earlier this month against St. Louis and went just 1 inning, striking out 2. His last four appearances were in relief, two versus the M's.

I don't think the Rangers have another Sampson-type so we might be seeing a series of one- and two-inning pitchers today unless Drew Smyly takes the hill. Considering that Smyly and their bullpen is lousy they're basically punting this game. Of course, we'll probably muff the punt but we'll see.

Ranger web site takes a jab at the Mariners: https://www.lonestarball.com/2019/5/29/ ... s-win-11-4

Dylan Moore called back up to replace Crawford so Moore is available on the bench today.

Aaaaand the ball game is over. I thought Hunter Pence was done last year, having a big comeback season at 36. Apparently it can be done.
