They are desperate and we need to just go full rebuild at this point. No way in hell our rotation will be ready to compete for a title in 2021.
Haniger for the Phillies #1 Prospect for 22 yo 3B Alec Bohm currently hitting .340/.938 this season. Also throw in former Mariner prospect Enyel De Los Santos who is their current #6.
Thoughts?

I still wish they would have traded for the Braves 3B prospect Riley in the offseason.

Great stuff Dt!
If we aren't going to use Haniger as a CF I have no problems trading him.
Funny how people outside the organization have an accurate view of Mallex Smith, meanwhile we give him tiiime.
From the article:
"Smith, on the other hand, is best cast as a fourth outfielder whose speed atones for some underlying shakiness."
Sounds about right to me. When his speed actually atones, it's nice.

Still don't understand why Denard Span is currently without a job.

If the Phillies want Mallex, you are right—they’re desperate.

And here Haniger was proclaimed as the centerpiece of the rebuild just a few short months ago.
Funny, he's on pace for 39-40 home runs but only 85 rbi's.
He'll be 29 in December, in his prime.
His asking price should be high but go for it. A good return of high ranked prospects as suggested of Bohm and De Los Santos would work.

I think we have plenty of hitting, either those on the field who should stick or those in the pipeline. I'd trade for an AA or AAA pitching stud... if the Phillies even have one.

Love it. Bring up Fraley, plug in Bohm at 3rd, Seager can play some 2nd (If we can't trade him), and hopefully we can move Dee if his health isn't an issue. Stash Maalox and Healy in AAA if we can't move or dump them.
Lots of ifs, but I'm fully behind moving Haniger for a #1 3rd baseman prospect. I fear we might need to sweeten the pot unless the Phillies are completely over Bohm as they were Crawford.

We don't have a 3B within a million miles of the big leagues unless you count Rizzo who has hit about 1 HR every 100 PAs and is average defensively.
