Re: Bottom Feeding Frenzy GT 6/20
Hey Peter,
Couple of game thread rules violations here. Because we won yesterday, it's hanjag's game thread until we lose and you can't post a thread without lineups unless you already have rights to it.
Don't worry you won't have to wait long until we lose then feel free to start one with lineups that usually come out about 4 hours before game time.
Thanks!!!

BTW, I don’t think this is crazy. I think it’s smart. It’s a way for a second-tier team to tap into undeveloped markets. I eventually see us doing the same with Vancouver, or Portland, and becoming a regional team.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 5:40 pmOK this is crazy:

What fan is going stick with a team that plays the second half of the season in a city 1000 miles away? And which city would host playoff games? I'd be pissed.

Yeah, I didn't mean crazy dumb, just crazy as in I had never even remotely considered it.Petert wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 5:49 pmBTW, I don’t think this is crazy. I think it’s smart. 1500. Guessing they won't be playing in Montreal in October with an average low of 39.Jack Merridew wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 5:56 pmWhat fan is going stick with a team that plays the second half of the season in a city 1000 miles away? And which city would host playoff games? I'd be pissed.

If it came down to a team increasing their revenues, you can be sure they would work out as many of the kinks as possible: fan loyalty, playoff siting, new ballpark construction in the sister city...all that. The choice of Montreal for a Florida team is weird, although I could see Miami doing it with San Juan PR.Jack Merridew wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 5:56 pmWhat fan is going stick with a team that plays the second half of the season in a city 1000 miles away? This deserves a separate thread, imho.
