Okay, there's air travel, the drive to the ballpark, talking to your agent and dealing with life stuff, plus you do your pre-game workout and all that like it's a normal work day. But the game itself? Gravy. The only players who should be getting tired are pitchers (arms) and catchers (knees). How a position player can be "too tired" to play is beyond me.

I've played softball tournaments where I've played as many as nine games in one day, sometimes several in a row without a break (eight in a row on the nine-game day), playing outfield in the freaking deserts of California, Arizona and Nevada, and just this past October played five games in a row on a 95-degree day in Las Vegas. And I'm 53. You can't tell me that these strapping 25 year olds need a "day off".
