The Seattle Mariners!!~!!

2. Shed Long Jr. (L) 2B
3. Kyle Lewis (R) CF
4. Kyle Seager (L) 3B
5. Daniel Vogelbach (L) DH
6. Evan White (R) 1B
7. Tim Lopes (R) LF
8. Mallex Smith (L) RF
9. Joe Hudson (R) C

Scott Cervix is wasting no time making moves as M's push for top draft choice intensifies....
Manager Scott swiftly appoints Nick Margevicius move to rotation to replace Graveman to counter Castellani subbing for Chi Chi Gonzales

Lineups to be posted ASAP but in the meantime......

Here are the gaudy offensive substitutions from yesterday's lineup
Dan Vogelbach: .107
Dee Gordon: .147
Mallex Smith: .148

And here's how we stand in the race for top draft pick as season passes 1/4th mark; Current winning percentages
1) .214 Pittsburg
2) .333 Seattle and Kansas City (Virtual Tie)
4) .333 Texas (Seattle and KC lead Texas because they have more losses)

Mariners are in a class by themselves concerning run differential::
Top three:
1) LA Dodgers: +38
2) Minnesota: +28
3) Colorado: +28

Bottom of Barrel Three
1) Seattle: -35
2) Arizona: -26
3) Pittsburg: -23

Scott Cervix sat Kyle Lewis, the Major League HIT Leader, yesterday after hitting 20-for-52 (.385) with a double, three homers, 10 RBI, one stolen base and five walks in his first 13 games as a starter. He continued to lead the majors in hits entering the day. … Servais said shortstop J.P. Crawfod is also due a day off before the Mariners hit the road next week. “It is a grind, and our young guys, they’re playing well, they’re getting all their work in, but I think it’s important to give them a blow, mentally as well as physically,” Servais said. Yeah, like 15 fucking games is a real grind?

I would bet a lot that Cervix has more say in where the cardboard cutouts are put in the stands than who was going to replace Graveman.

Vogey on track to be the second Mariner ever to hit 25 HRs one season and be out of baseball two years later. Who was the first.

David Gee is ineligible for this trivia question.

That just blows my mind. Okay, there's air travel, the drive to the ballpark, talking to your agent and dealing with life stuff, plus you do your pre-game workout and all that like it's a normal work day. But the game itself? Gravy. The only players who should be getting tired are pitchers (arms) and catchers (knees). How a position player can be "too tired" to play is beyond me.

I've played softball tournaments where I've played as many as nine games in one day, sometimes several in a row without a break (eight in a row on the nine-game day), playing outfield in the freaking deserts of California, Arizona and Nevada, and just this past October played five games in a row on a 95-degree day in Las Vegas. And I'm 53. You can't tell me that these strapping 25 year olds need a "day off".

Like I said, Crawford was rested after 14 games, just 2618 short of Ripken's record. lol
