btw Zunino has a .791 OPS right now, 291 points higher than our 1st baseman.

Just saw a Larry Stone tweet that it is WAY too early to compare White to Zunino. Well its going to get late early with that guy. He is some how worse than last season.

Starting to look like White played the Mariners. They may well have burned $20 mil+ on that deal. The owners must be losing their minds. :(

Yeah I am shocked Mather didn't call him out on his infamous call. Talk about over paid.

Yeah having to use $50 bills instead of $100 to light their cigars...

It will be interesting if he is a bust since he represents the new philosophy of spending to try and tie up your homegrown talent.

Yeah I get the logic behind it but it kind of ignores the fact that even a significant % of can't miss prospects go bust. He was FAR from a can't miss prospect.

Would love to see Justin Smoaks comparable numbers alongside White.

Another glovey first baseman whose bat would come around some day.

Imagine waiting 6 years and that was your reward. I think that's where we're at. Except Justin had a much better bat imo.

It's a worthwhile risk. That are paying more than that for Paxton and Kikuchi this year alone.
The poster formerly known as Kingfelixk. With a new forum comes a new boardname. Julio is my guy, plus we share a birthday, so that's Culiooooo

Smoak was at .208/.666 after his first 74 games. Sucked but still much better than White. Btw Smoak made over $30M in his career.
