The Seattle Mariners weren't expected to make a lot of noise in the AL West. The problem was they made even less. Over the last handful of seasons, they have gutted the middle of their batting order. To date, they haven't found a source of power to replace these lost bats. The Mariners played six games under their expectations last year, and some envision them having even more problems in 2020. Their batting order is a list of who's that players from top to bottom. Only at third base is there any name recognition.
There is another looming problem. Seven Seattle hitters are projected to bat under .250. In addition, every projected starting hitter is estimated to strike out more than 100 times. This doesn't bode well for offensive efficiency. Now we look at the five-man rotation that Seattle is showing. There isn't a single starter that projects top-20 in the American League. Only their number-one ace is projected to win more games than he loses. There are a couple of youngsters who might improve Seattle's pending fortunes, but don't expect it to be much./quote]

M's vs A's who were shocked last night:
Yes, I'm sure every baseball expert predicted that Jake No Power Bauer would emerge as hero by swinging at a pitch a foot out of the zone to slap it into the opposite field and drive in two improbable runs last night. I don't know what we are watching.... The M's band of AAAA minor leaguers and flawed veterans keep cobbling together improbable victories.... last night unveiling a new hero..... "No Power" Bauer..... I just finished watching the game.... watching the shell shocked A's wander out of the dugout rubbing their butts wondering WTF happened... So here we go again.... no predictions beyond Scott Servais making some horrible decision tonight that works out perfectly against all odds for the Mariners...

Here is to three in a row hopefully, maybe another country beside France shows up to lead the way. Have to give Bauers a little credit for taking that O/S pitch to left where it deserved to be Kelenic could learn from that along with a few others!!

The line up is .452 (14 for 31) v Cole Irvin but no HRs. Time to explore the betting apps for some value.

I don't think I want to bet on these guys or against them....this is a team of unicorns...
Re: M's vs A's who were shocked last night:
Unicorns Indeed. As they used to sing on Sesame Street...."one of these things is not like the others"......lol

People have been harping on RD for months and guaranteeing regression for almost as long. Would you prefer a +60 RD and and 58-68 record.

Not a very good job pitching to shift for first run
Re: M's vs A's who were shocked last night:
The scrubs have Irwin up ton61 pitches in the third. You think he would be better like Cy Young or R Johnson to call someone that
