Prior to this season he was just another BOR pitcher fighting for a job (2-14 as a starter with ERA over 5.00). This year, he leads the AL in both wins and ERA.

How much of this is about having a great pitch framer behind the plate?

he's nasty. Upper 90s from the left side with a sick curve. Rays got him, Meadows and a reliever prospect for Archer. What a steal of a deal!
